This article will walk you through some simple commands to run if you are having issues with your Windows installation.
If you're having some trouble with missing settings or other Windows features not working as expected then here are some easy commands you can try on your PC to try and fix it.
Start by opening your Command Prompt by searching "CMD" in Windows -
Run as Admin, then type the following -
sfc /scannow
Press enter and allow the command to run. This will scan your Windows installation for any missing/corrupt files and attempt to correct them.
Please also try this second command:
dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
This one does a bit of a deeper dive into your windows installation to find and attempt to repair any errors the first command might have missed.
At this point please restart the PC and try to use it as you normally would. IF the issues persist please follow our other guide for a clean reinstallation of Windows using a bootable USB drive.
